In the 88^th National Science Congress, Dr. M. S. Swaminathan was honoured with the 'Millenium Prize' for unique work done in the field of Agriculture.
Swaminathan was honoured with a 'Millennium Prize' by Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee in 88^th National Science Congress on 3^rd - 7^th January 2001 held at IARI, New Delhi.
