Localized incompatibility is a Graft combination in which a mutually compatible inter stock overcomes the incompatibility of the scion and rootstock.
The inter stock is a segment of a tree trunk that is grafted between the rootstock and the tree. It has been used with different fruit trees to modulate the tree size, fruit production and quality and the aging of the tree. Inter stock allows the union of incompatible varieties or induces dwarfing.
