New Seed Policy was launched in

The new Seed Policy was launched in on 16^th September, 1988.
The National Seed Policy 2002 was launched to provide intellectual property protection to new varieties; usher this sector into planned development; protect the interest of farmers and encourage the conservation of agrobiodiversity.
The aim of providing the farmer with the best planting materials available in the world is to increase productivity and thereby increase farm income and export earnings.
