Polyembryony is the occurrence of more than one embryo in a seed which consequently results in the emergence of multiple seedlings.
The mango tree grown from poly-embryonic seed does not need to be grafted. It is observed that the mango tree can produce fruits in 2 to 4 years if they have been grown from a polyembryonic seed.
Chandrakaran, Olour and Salem all three are polyembryonic varieties of mango.
