Stem injection or root feeding of Monocrotophos is recommended for the management of Coconut black headed caterpillars.
Stem injection of 10 ml monocrotophos 36 EC for maidan areas (method as described under red palm weevil). As indicated earlier, before root feeding and stem injection of pesticide, harvest the nuts and a waiting period of 45 days must be observed for harvest.
Root feeding and stem injection (Monocrotophos) only once a year or maximum of twice. Don't use the coconut nuts up to 45 days after treatment. If any mature nuts are found on the tree, harvest the nuts before treatment.
