The Tomato variety suitable to be grown under high temperatures is Pusa hybrid-1.
This hybrid of tomato is developed by IARI, New Delhi and is suitable for western India with hot summers (Fruit set up to 28°C) and Night temperatures 20°C normal.
Fruits are round and flattish, thick pericarp, uniform ripening and smooth 2 - 3 locules. About 100 to 150 g of seeds are sufficient for raising seedlings for a hectare. It takes 120 to 130 days from transplanting to fruit ripening. It is highly tolerant to root-knot disease.
