India-UAE Relations

Dubai is recognized as the commercial capital and tourism centre of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Indians in UAE constitute one of the largest migrant populations as around 2.6 million Indians live in UAE.

UAE is a strategically important country for India in the Gulf region. Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to UAE in 2015 and Crown Prince Sheikh Zayed’s visit to New Delhi as the Chief Guest during the 2017 Republic Day ceremony represent a common desire to enhance the existing bilateral relations.
