A profit of Rs. 960 is divided between A and B in the ratio $$\frac{1}{3}$$ : $$\frac{1}{5}$$. The difference of their profit is = ?
A. Rs. 120
B. Rs. 160
C. Rs. 180
D. Rs. 240
Answer: Option D
Solution(By Examveda Team)
Total Profit = Rs. 960/-A : B = $$\frac{1}{3}$$ : $$\frac{1}{5}$$ = 5 : 3
Profit share of A = $$\frac{5}{8} \times 960 = 600$$
Profit share of B = $$\frac{3}{8} \times 960 = 360$$
Difference of their profit = 600 - 360 = Rs. 240
