Let the total number of votes = 100xlosser candidate get 38% of vote i.e. = 38x and winner will get = 100x - 38x = 62x
According to the question,
62x - 38x = 7200
⇒ 24x = 7200
⇒ x = 300
Total votes = 100x
= 100 × 300
= 30000
