Silique or siliqua is the fruit of the mustard family. It resembles a seed capsule having two fused carpels with the length being more than three times the width.
When it becomes dry, then the length is less than three times the width of the dried fruit, then it is called a silicle. Further, the outer walls of the ripe fruit are separate and named as dehiscent.
