The Phyang Gompa or Monastery is located at a distance of 6 km from the Srinagar-Leh highway and 17 km from Leh that stands on a hillock. This monastery was constructed in the 16^th century by the Namgyal head. You will discover hundreds of wooden and bronze statues of all Buddhist Goddesses and gods collectively. You get to celebrate the festival of Gang-Sngon Tsedup that is held in the second week of the first month of the Tibetan Calendar and the delights include mask dances, folk dances, and rituals performed by the monks of the Gompa.
