Gandhi bug insect attack on rice during Milking stage. It is a small insect that attacks the ripening rice grains and makes them wither away. It sucks the milk from the developing grains and stems in the early stage of grain formation. It also causes a foul smell in the field because of withering.
The milking stage is the stage when the grains are being filled.
