As per the survey done at the end of the fiscal year 2021, in India, the total area covered under the cultivation of food grain crops is between 100 - 150 million hectares. While other crops like cotton, jute and other commercial products are outside of this. The total production of food grains in India is about 316 million tons, as recorded during 2020 - 21.
