    speed =distance/time
    distance=16km
    time= 1Hour +1 hour=2 hours
    therefore, speed = 16/2 or 1/2×16
    here is where the half is coming from

    stream+speed of boat=11km/h
    stream-speed of boat= 5 km/h
    ___________________________
    2(stream) =16km/h
    so stream =16/2 km/h
    =8km/h
