As per the Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Act, 2019, the validity of a licence to drive a transport vehicle has been revised.

For non-hazardous goods vehicles, the licence is valid for 5 years.

For hazardous goods vehicles, the licence is now valid for 3 years from the date of issue.
