Moti Lal Kemmu was a famous playwright (1933 - 2018) from Kashmir. He was born in 1933 in Srinagar. He graduated from Jammu and Kashmir University in 1953. He wrote, acted and directed plays in Kashmiri. Some of his important plays include Teen Asangati Aikanki, Lal Drayas Lol Re, Trunove, Tshai, Natak Truche, Tota Tol Aina, etc. He received the Sahitya Akademi Award in 1982 for his contribution to Kashmiri Literature as a playwright.
