RRB Group D Selection Process 2026

To get recruited, candidates must clear all three stages of the RRB Group D selection process. Qualifying each stage is essential for selection in the technical departments of Indian Railways.

  • Computer-Based Test (CBT)
    This is the first stage of the selection process. It includes objective-type questions from General Science, Mathematics, General Intelligence & Reasoning, and General Awareness to test candidates' basic knowledge and aptitude.
  • Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
    This stage evaluates physical fitness. Male candidates must carry 35 kg for 100 meters in 2 minutes and run 1000 meters in 4 minutes 15 seconds. Female candidates must carry 20 kg for 100 meters and complete a 1000-meter run in 5 minutes 40 seconds.
  • Document Verification
    Candidates who qualify CBT and PET are called for document verification to confirm eligibility, age, and qualifications. Incorrect or missing documents may lead to disqualification.
  • Medical Test

  • A citizen of India, or
  • A citizen of Nepal, or
  • A subject of Bhutan, or
  • A Tibetan refugee who arrived in India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanent settlement, or
  • A person of Indian origin who migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, or East African countries (Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, Vietnam) to settle permanently in India
  • Candidates from Nepal, Bhutan, Tibet, and other countries must have a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India
Educational Qualification
  • Must have passed 10th (Matriculation), ITI, or equivalent qualification
  • National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) issued by NCVT is also accepted
  • Diploma/Degree in Engineering is not considered a substitute for ITI unless specified
  • Candidates awaiting final results are not eligible to apply
  • Candidates who have completed Course Completed Act Apprenticeship can apply
