Strip cup is used just before milking.
It is a metal cup with an opening covered with a fine wire mesh or dark cloth into which foremilk is drawn for examination.
The strip cup is useful in detecting abnormal milk and further stimulates milk let-down. It is also used to detect mastitis. Squirt first stream of milk from each teat into strip cup. Inspect for flakes, lumps, and other signs of abnormal milk.
