Jaisalmer is situated in the middle of the Thar Desert. Temperatures reach their peak in both summer and winter. Summer has a maximum temperature of 49º C and a minimum of 25º C. The maximum temperature in winter is 23º C and the minimum temperature is 5º C. The average rainfall is 210 mm. The maximum temperature was recorded at 50 °C. Hence it is called the driest place in India.
