Kresek is nothing but a phase in a wilting syndrome that occurs in the early stage of plant growth of rice in Bacterial leaf blight (BLB). BLB is the destructive bacterial disease observed for the first time in Japan and is caused by the bacterium Xanthomonas. Keresek mostly occurs within 3 - 4 weeks after transplantation of the crop.
