The presence of VAM enhances the uptake of nutrients in general but particularly Phosphorus.
VAM stands for vesicular-Arbuscular Mycorrhizae formed by the symbiotic association between certain phycomycetous fungi and angiosperm rots.
It can dissolve the phosphates found in abundance in the soil. Apart from increasing the availability of phosphorus, it provides the plants with the strength to resist disease germs and weather conditions.
