When did the Barabati fort fell in the hands of British?

In 1989, the city celebrated a thousand years of existence. It remained the capital of Odisha during the rule of the Muslims and the Marathas. On 3^reOctober, 1803, the British forces took possession of Barabati fort, which was used as a prison for various great kings of the region.
