When heat is transferred from one particle of hot body to another by actual motion of the heated particles, it is referred to as heat transfer by

A. Conduction

B. Convection

C. Radiation

D. Conduction and convection

Answer: Option A

Solution(By Examveda Team)

Conduction transfers heat via direct molecular collision. An area of greater kinetic energy will transfer thermal energy to an area with lower kinetic energy. Higher-speed particles will collide with slower speed particles. The slower-speed particles will increase in kinetic energy as a result.

    Convection is the right answer.
Conduction is mainly associated with the transferring vibrational energy (up to 30%) and also due to free electrons(70%).In conduction there is no any motion of heated particles. convection is associated with the molecular momentum transfer.
