Tectosilicate is the silicate class that has a 3-D structure.
These are framework silicates that have a three-dimensional framework of silicate tetrahedral with SiO₂ or a 1 : 2 ratio.
Any member of a group of compounds with structures that have silicate tetrahedrons (each of which consists of a central silicon atom surrounded by four oxygen atoms at the corners of the tetrahedron) arranged in a three-dimensional lattice.
