Abdhul Ghani Sheikh was born on 5th March 1936. He is a comtemporary historian and award-winning writer from Ladakh. He wrote many books. Some of them are Dil He to Hai (Novel), Wo Zamana (Novel), Zojila Ke Aar Paar (Anthology to short stories), Doraha (short stories), Sonam Norbu (Autobiography), Reflections on Ladakh, Tibet and entral Asia, Ladakh after 1947, etc. His books help to understand the history of Ladakh.
