India has one of the lowest agricultural yields in the world because farmers being poor and illiterate do not use modern farming techniques. Indian farmers are facing the problem of low income from their marketable surplus crops in the absence of proper organized markets and adequate transportation facilities. Scattered and sub-divided holdings are also creating serious problem for marketing their products.
