On the 9^th of November 1942, Jai Prakash Narayan, together with five other leaders, Ramnandan Mishra, Yogendra Shukla, Suraj Narayan Singh, Gulabi Sonar, and Shaligram Singh, escaped from the Hazaribagh jail.
