The buoyancy depends on

A. the mass of the body

B. the shape of the body

C. the mass of the liquid displaced

D. the depth to which the body is immersed

Answer: Option C

Solution(By Examveda Team)

The buoyancy depends on the mass of the liquid displaced. According to Archimedes principle, the buoyant force of a partially immersed body is equal to the weight of the displaced liquid. Therefore the buoyant force depends upon the density of the fluid and the submerged volume of the body.

Buoyancy means a force that cause to object float. According to the principle of Archimedes when a solid is float in liquid or gases, it is subject to an upward force equal in magnitude to the weight of the fluid it has displaced.
