The ratio of the ages of two persons is 4 : 7 and the age of one of them is greater than that of the other by 30 years. The sum of their ages (in years) is = ?

Correct Answer: Option A
Ratio of the age of two person A : B = 4 : 7 = 4x : 7x
Difference of their ages is = 7x - 4x = 30
i.e. x = 10
Age of A = 4 × 10 = 40
Age of A = 7 × 10 = 70
Sum of their ages = 40 + 70 = 110
