In 2003 and earlier versions - From Format Cells dialog box click on Merge Cells check box
In 2007 and subsequent versions - Merge & Center icon on the Home ribbon.

    In 2003 the merge and center option is available in the formatting toolbar. option D is the right answer.

    In the alignment section of toolbar, there is center button + merge and center options to be click
