RRB Paramedical Age Relaxation 2026

Eligible candidates belonging to reserved categories and other specified groups can claim age relaxation according to the applicable railway recruitment rules.

  • SC/ST Candidates: 5 years of age relaxation.
  • OBC-NCL Candidates: 3 years of age relaxation.
  • Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD): 10 years for UR/EWS, 13 years for OBC-NCL, and 15 years for SC/ST candidates.
  • Ex-Servicemen and Other Eligible Categories: Relaxation is available as per the conditions specified in the official notification.

RRB Paramedical Educational Qualification 2026

The required educational qualifications differ according to the post. Candidates must possess the relevant degree, diploma, certificate, and professional registration wherever prescribed.

  • Nursing Superintendent: Certificate as a Registered Nurse and Midwife after completing a recognised three-year General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) course, or a B.Sc. Nursing qualification.
  • Dialysis Technician: B.Sc. qualification with a Diploma in Haemodialysis or the prescribed haemodialysis training or experience. Specified degrees in Dialysis Techniques, Dialysis Technology, or Renal Dialysis Technology are also accepted.
  • Health & Malaria Inspector Grade II: B.Sc. with Chemistry as a main or optional subject, along with the prescribed Health/Sanitary Inspector diploma or recognised certificate qualification.
  • Audiologist & Speech Therapist: Bachelor's degree in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (BASLP) from a recognised institution, with registration as prescribed.
  • Pharmacist (Entry Grade): Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D), with registration as a Pharmacist under the Pharmacy Act, 1948.
  • Radiographer X-Ray Technician: 10+2 with Physics and Chemistry, along with the prescribed diploma in Radiography, X-Ray Technology, or Radiodiagnosis Technology. Specified equivalent qualifications are also accepted.
  • ECG Technician: The prescribed 10+2 or Science graduation qualification, along with a certificate, diploma, or degree of the required duration in ECG Laboratory Technology, Cardiology, or a related specified field.
  • Optometrist: B.Sc. in Optometry or the prescribed three-to-four-year Diploma in Ophthalmic Technician, with registration where required.
  • Lab Assistant Grade II: 10+2 in Science with a Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology (DMLT) or the prescribed equivalent certificate qualification. Specified B.Sc. Medical Laboratory Technology qualifications are also accepted.

RRB Paramedical Medical Standards 2026

Candidates must meet the medical fitness and visual acuity standards prescribed for their respective posts. The medical standards listed under CEN 05/2026 are as follows.

Nationality / Citizenship

As per the RRB Paramedical Recruitment 2026 notification (CEN 05/2026), candidates must fulfil the prescribed nationality or citizenship conditions. Eligible categories generally include:

  • A citizen of India.
  • A citizen of Nepal.
  • A subject of Bhutan.
  • A Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1 January 1962, with the intention of permanently settling in India.
  • A person of Indian origin who migrated from the specified countries listed in the notification, with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Candidates belonging to categories other than Indian citizens may be required to obtain a Certificate of Eligibility issued by the Government of India. Candidates who require this certificate must submit it during Document Verification, as prescribed in the official notification.
