The Dogra Art Gallery is a renowned museum in Jammu city. It is situated in the pink hall of the Mubarak Mandi complex that lies on the bank of River Tawi. The complex is one of the prominent historical places of the state of Jammu and Kashmir. Dogra Art Gallery houses more than 800 rare painting and articles from the dogra dynasty, then erstwhile rulers of the state. The walls of the galleries have been adorned with the beautiful paintings from the schools of Kangra, Basohli and Jammu. A religious site visited by people of all religions, the Shahdara Shareif was built by Maharaja Gulab Singh in the 19^th century to pay tribute to Baba Ghulam Shah. It is believed that Pir Ghulam Shah, who was born at Saidian (now Rawalpindi, in Pakistan), made Shahdara his home for life. Legend has it that Maharaja Ranjit Singh of Punjab in 1820 AD, sent his army general, Gulab Singh, to conquer his adversary. However, the general lost most of his soldiers and when he was camping at Thanamandi, he found out about Baba Ghulam Shah and went to see him. When the baba saw him, he smiled. On being asked the reason, he said that he was smiling at the good future of Gulab Singh. Then, baba asked the general to climb on top of a mountain and look around. He said that all the places he saw with his naked eye would be a part of his territory someday. The general saw Jammu, Kashmir, Tibet and Kishtwar and as thanks asked the baba to take some land from him, who asked him for the land of Shahdra Sharief in Jammu. Later, Gulab Singh became the Maharaja of Jammu and Kashmir and went on to express his gratitude to the baba. However, baba had left his abode and Gulab Singh got a shrine constructed for him. The shrine lies at a distance of about 177 km from Jammu.

An ancient temple of Lord Shiva, also known as Aparneswar is located near Mantalai Lake. It is also known as Mantalai temple. The Martand Sun Temple is a Hindu temple located near the city of Anantnag in Jammu and Kashmir, India. It dates back to the 8^th century AD and was dedicated to Surya, the chief solar deity in Hinduism; Surya is also known by the Sanskrit-language synonym Martand. The temple was destroyed by the Shah Miri dynasty in the 15^th century, on the orders of the erstwhile Muslim ruler of Kashmir, Sikandar Shah Miri.

Gurudwara Nangali Sahib is situated in the lap of a picturesque hill and on the bank of Drungali Nallah. It is about 4 kms from Poonch town in Poonch district, which is the smallest of the 14 districts of Jammu & Kashmir State. It is one of the oldest shrines of the Sikhs in Northern India. The Gurudwara was established by Thakur Bhai Mela Singh ji (the fourth successor of Bhai Pheru Singh ji) in 1803. Maharaja Ranjit Singh visited Gurudwara Nangali Sahib in 1814. Greatly impressed with the Gurudwara he attached a jagir (an estate to provide income) to the Gurudwara sahib. Twenty years later the Maharaja later attached a four village jagir to the Gurudwara sahib's holdings in the year 1823.

As is said by Historians, the Mubarak Mandi Palace was established by Raja Dhruv Dev (1707 - 1733) after shifting his capital from Purani Mandi to this beautiful region that overlooked the river. The palace grew over the years and new palaces and buildings were added to it. After a number of attacks, threats and change of rulers, it was in the year 1874, after enlargement and renovation by Maharaja Ranbir Singh of Jammu and Kashmir, that the palace complex took its present form.

The Jama Masjid was constructed by Sultan Sikandar in 1394 CE and it was completed in 1402 CE during the time of spiritual leader Mir Mohammad Hamdani. It is located in Talab Khatikan near Raghunath Bazar in Jammu district. It is the oldest and the biggest Masjid of Jammu district.
