RRB NTPC (Graduate) Selection Process 2026

The Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) conduct the RRB NTPC Graduate recruitment process under CEN 06/2026 through two Computer-Based Tests (CBTs), followed by Document Verification and a Medical Examination. Selection is based on merit and fulfilment of the prescribed eligibility conditions.

Selection Stage Details
Stage 1 1st Stage Computer-Based Test (CBT 1)
Stage 2 2nd Stage Computer-Based Test (CBT 2)
Stage 3 Document Verification (DV)
Stage 4 Medical Examination

1st Stage Computer-Based Test (CBT 1)

CBT 1 is the initial screening examination for all notified RRB NTPC Graduate posts. Candidates are shortlisted for CBT 2 based on their normalised marks and merit.

CBT 1 Exam Pattern

Mathematics 30 30
General Intelligence and Reasoning 30 30
Total 100 100
  • Exam duration: 90 minutes.

  • Purpose: Screening and shortlisting candidates for CBT 2.

Eligible PwBD candidates using a scribe are provided 120 minutes, as specified in the notification. The subject-wise question distribution is indicative and may vary in the actual examination.

2nd Stage Computer-Based Test (CBT 2)

Candidates shortlisted from CBT 1 are required to appear for CBT 2. This examination is used to assess candidates further and determine merit for shortlisting to Document Verification.

The normalised marks obtained in CBT 2 are used for shortlisting candidates for Document Verification. Candidates must secure the prescribed minimum qualifying marks for their respective categories.

Minimum Qualifying Marks
Category Minimum Qualifying Marks
UR 40%
EWS 40%
OBC-NCL 30%
SC 30%
ST 25%

These qualifying marks also apply to Ex-Servicemen and PwBD candidates according to their respective communities. A relaxation of up to 2 marks may be allowed for PwBD candidates if there are insufficient candidates against reserved PwBD vacancies, as specified in the notification.

Document Verification (DV)

Candidates are shortlisted for Document Verification based on their performance in the CBT examinations, merit, and the prescribed qualifying marks. The number of candidates called for verification is generally equal to the number of vacancies (1:1), as specified in the notification.

Documents Required

Candidates should keep the following documents ready, wherever applicable:

  • Original educational qualification certificates and mark sheets.
  • Date of birth proof.
  • Valid photo identity proof.
  • SC, ST, OBC-NCL or EWS certificate, if applicable.

Final empanelment and appointment are subject to successful Document Verification, medical fitness, verification of certificates, and other prescribed checks.
