A shopkeeper gains 21% after allowing a discount of 12% on the marked price of an article. Find his profit percent, if the article is sold at marked price allowing no discount = ?

A. 30%

B. 35%

C. 37.50%

D. 31.50%

Answer: Option C

Solution(By Examveda Team)

Cost Price : Markde Price
(100 - Discount%)   :   (100 + Profit%)
88 : 121
8 : 11

If there is no discount given,
Then:
Marked price = Selling price
So, Profit %
$$\eqalign{ & = \frac{{11 - 8}}{8} \times 100 \cr & = \frac{3}{8} \times 100 \cr & = 37.50\% \cr} $$
